Vent Filtration

Tanks used for storing liquids require effective vent filtration to prevent microbial or particulate contamination. As liquid levels change, air must flow in or out of the tank to equalize pressure. A vent filter allows this airflow while protecting the tank and contents from contaminants. Properly functioning vent filters use hydrophobic media, such as PTFE membranes, to ensure air flows freely without letting liquid enter the filter. For optimal performance, the vent filter must remain dry to avoid clogging and maintain consistent airflow. Hydrophobic filters, like the Graver TefTEC™ Series, are designed to allow clean air to enter and exit the tank during filling and emptying, while removing dirt and microbes. Proper sizing of the vent filter is critical to prevent damage to the tank and ensure the process runs smoothly.
