Ecocote®

Ecocote® is a homogeneous precoat product comprised of inert microfine cellulose fibers.  The individual fibers are effectively processed to create a flocced structure and enhance the hydraulic permeability of the product resulting in longer run times.  Ecocote is designed to work in conjunction with Powdex® precoat resins or to be used by itself.  These products are applied to cartridge filtration systems such as condensate filter demineralizers to combine the unit operations of fine filtration and ion exchange.  Optimal performance is achieved when precoating on Aegis® polypropylene wound and DualGuard® precoat septa.  The precoat products and the septa are designed to work together and along with the Powdex equipment provide the most uniformly distributed precoats to achieve desired performance and runlength.  Ecocote is often applied as a top layer over a Powdex precoat to increase suspended solids filtration capacity and to enhance precoat integrity and prohibit precoat cracking.  Ecocote may be precoated directly on the septa for a more economical approach when ion exchange capacity is not needed.  Ecocote can also be mixed with any Graver Technologies’ precoat product at point of use to achieve additional benefits in certain operating conditions.
